when I was a kid, and my Dad was watching the golf on telly

a golfist would address the ball, then thwack it upfield (as it were) and then the camera would show a long shot of moving sky until someone in the director's box located the stopped pill and switched to another cambera.

Cameras have moved on a bit, haven't they?
