Celtic didn't want to sell and Sporting wanted to keep RVW for the season

they were Hughton's targets along with Kei and Becchio, the board couldn't do anymore than that. Is it their fault that Hoot's main targets were off limits?

That's unless the conspiracy has evolved this week and they weren't even Hoot's targets at all...
