Here's a theory....

Nobody would pay sufficient cash for Morison but we wanted rid as he was on a decent wedge. Only way was part exchange on a player who might be more saleable than Moro over the next year. And the bonus might be that he surprised and scored a hatful.

I bet the net income / loss for becchio less cost of becchio and cost of Morison will be more favorable than for only Moro vs cost of Moro.
