Everton were mugged.

A couple of things I don't understand though:

Really, why does it make a difference if a player back passes to the keeper? How did that rule come about and what purpose does it serve?

Secondly, if a keep catches the ball from a back pass, why is it a free kick in the box and not a penalty? A foul is a foul, no?

And why did he get booked when other keepers have been sent off for it?

Everton should have had another penalty too.
