The average football fan is basically an irrational idiot

They can express twenty different and often opposing views all within a couple of minutes. They see only black or white and have no understanding of probability or risk and therefore will take the extreme position on every incident in a game let alone result.

There are exceptions to this:
- selwyn who is a psychopath
- gobb who is a misery guts and sees nothing but failure ahead.
- pants who stubbornly sticks to his view whatever opposing evidence is offered
- SCC who takes the opposite position to pants whatever it may be
- CB41 who is simply bewildered by the modern world
