the thing about Thatcher.....

... is that her policies mean that effectively the Tories can never again win a general election. Her policies wiped out the Tories in Scotland (down from 50% in 1955 to 16% in 2010) so it is now mathematically impossible for them to win a general election without that Scottish vote. On present form they they won't win in 2015 so, by 2020, it will be nearly 30 years since they last won a general election (1992).

Now doing irreparable harm to your country is one thing but rendering your party unelectable is another! But at least she "stood up to the Argies"!
