If you;re taking a wider view, then other things should also count:

1. the fact that Hughton hasn't had a chance to build his squad
2. there may not be other suitable candidates out there. Let's ignore joke names such as O'Neill and Redknapp.
3. our talisman, and one of the main reasons we are where we are currently - Grant Holt - is a shadow of what he has been in the previous seasons. This is down to him, no-one else.
