...implies that they think 41 points will be enough. If you want to get picky about it then, to be fair, yes he says 41 points not 40.

Howson spoke last week about how it will "go down to the last few games."

It seems pretty clear to me that the team sees their mission as securing safety this season and nothing more and based on Hughtons various comments and soundbites coming from the players I think that has been the case for quite some time. Of course if we do that then we will all be happy but that does not mean to say it should be all we strive for. Had we been in the bottom three all season then i would not have a problem with that attitude but given where we were in December I would have liked to have seen us strive for a bit more with "just staying up" being the silver lining if things went wrong rather than the holy grail it now appears to be for all concerned. We should not have ended up in this position and I am not overly enthused about one of our players coming out and making comments like this at this point in time.
