and just how a samsung galaxy uses plastic for a back cover to apples aluminium, similar with asus and the nexus 7 compaired to an ipad.... so many apple users prefer the tactile feel of metal and perceive "etter build quality"....similar to how many people buying luggage think a hard suit case will offer better protecti0on than a soft case.....(which is incorrect!)

so the hardware build of the phones differ, but as you suggest, the software these days is very good for android.
