Got one of those too.

Had it for a few years and it's always been left on. No problems so far. Use it as a media server for my PS3 too.

Drive clunks a bit, but I find if I rest it against something at a slight angle it shuts up.

I've just worked out this morning how to schedule a backup of selected PC files to it automatically using Windows 7 File Recovery.
