It doesn't have to be one or the other though

It ought to be perfectly possible to have some attacks and play higher up the pitch then we are doing without leaving ourselves completely open at the back.

I also get it when we have tough games. What really gets me is games like Newcastle and Fulham at home where both of them were absolutely there for the taking and showing no attacking intent but rather than try and take advantage and pick up a crucial 3 points we just allowed them to play out a dull draw and settled for 1 point.
