*but* this was always going to be a holding season - a for God's sake, just stay in this league by hook or crook season - and if we manage it, that's job done, and well done everyone. We *should* manage it too - it's just all got rather hairier than it should've done.

Curbs? I just think he grew tired of modern football and its crazy ways - but his record's excellent, and I still think this club was a perfect fit for him. Doesn't matter now though. As for Keegan: he didn't actually do anything wrong at Newcastle second time round. The reasons they went down were Mike Ashley, Dennis Wise, Joe Kinnear and Alan Shearer.
