Question about music in general

First, an admission. Music moves me emotionally, as I'm sure it does to many others, but in my case it *often* moves me to tears. That clip of the orchestral flash mob, posted below: my lip started quivering as soon as the first violins came in, I began to tremble as the rest of the strings were added, then my eyes started watering when the choir began, and when they gave it full beans I actually blubbed, my whole body shaking. I should add that I can't abide classical music, other than the famous main themes like the one played here.

I've played that clip a dozen or so times today and it's the same every time. Of course the presentation is important: ray Charles records never moved me to tears, though I like several of them, but in the film Ray, when they cut from him experimenting with a song in his flat to the full band playing Hit The Road Jack in concert, I burst into tears every time. I could give many many many more examples of music making me cry, privately and in public. Had I been in the crowd in the clip, you'd have seen me leaning against something, shaking visibly and trying to regain control of myself.

So: I accept that I'm a bit weird, but I'd be interested to see how many others are regularly taken this way by music.

Feel free to take the piss.
