He has developed a lot, ever since coming from Holland to Portugal. He's physically stronger and has acquired a tactical and positional awareness that wasn't showing when he first came in. He has scored quite a good amount of goals, but has also endured a couple of bad periods of form (like so many strikers). He still looks a bit too fragile for the Premier League and to play between Premier League defenders, but his movement could be important (even though i don't believe he can lead the attacking line by himself, and would work better as a complement to a more physical type of striker). He will continue to develop, surely, and become even better.

Sporting Lisbon is playing really really bad, these days (they were in the relegation zone for a few weeks and they're being managed by the fourth (!!) manager this season, only!). Yet, Wolfswinkel still stands out for them - which goes to show that, if inserted in a better team, with better teammates, he can be even better and really make things matter!

Tottenham could do better than signing him, surely. But they could also do worse. Plus, as Sporting are in the middle of a huge financial crisis, the possibility (which is very real, according to some statements from Sporting directors) of getting him for about ?10M is looking a great deal!
