The extent of the injury doesn't, in itself, prove anything either way about how bad or not the challenge was, of course. But you can bet that if he had been injured in any significant way, people would have taken that as even more proof of what an 'assault' it was. And called even more loudly for Mcmanamanaman to be banned / fined / strung up.

One of those, I think, where super-slow mo replays, internet chatrooms and lack of much else going on all contributed to a slightly hysterical over-reaction.
