Really enjoyed it, but it's not his best.

Marabou Stork Nightmares isn't short stories, it's a proper novel. An early one - '94 '95 or something. Wrote it after Trainspotting.

Can't recommend it enough. It's in two very different halves - one set in Edinburgh and very typical Welsh, the other on safari in Africa. Then you start to see common themes between the two. It's incredible. Get it.
