Handball - the Laws of the Game

Now unfortunately I wasn't able to get to the game today due to the Sky switch. But despite the refereeing a very good point gained.

From The Guardian, there is an observation about the Laws of the Game.

"In Fifa's Laws of the Game 2005, Law 12 says a free-kick or penalty will be awarded if a player "handles the ball deliberately (except for the goalkeeper within his own penalty area)".

It adds: "Referees are reminded that deliberately handling the ball is normally punished only by a direct free-kick or penalty kick if the offence occurred inside the penalty area.
"A caution or dismissal is not normally required."

So to be dismissed, Bunn would have had to denied a goal-scoring opportunity. Did he? In addition did Seb deliberately handle the ball for Sunderland's penalty? Then again did their chap deliberately put a hand on the ball? I'm confused.
