Why is there any need for a Straight Pride Day?

Straight people have been able to be proud to be straight for years.

Gay people have been persecuted against for decades, embarrassed, shamed, abused. But finally people realise it's fine to be gay and they can celebrate it.

Whereas straight people have never had this struggle so there's no need for the day.
