The Problem with the Europa league is

UEFA have tried to glam it up but it remains a poor competition basically because of the prize that is on offer.

A champions league place for the winners would soon have clubs taking it more seriously.

There is also the problem of qualifying games starting in the middle of pre-season.

Third place drop outs from the Champions league is seen as rewarding failure in order to get some bigger names in the competition.

Far too many games need to be played and this can have a detrimental effect on a clubs domestic season.

of course it would be the greatest competition in the world if we where in it
