They were lucky to win both finals. Good for them that they did.

And no, there are no examples of years when they SHOULD have won the trophy but were done by bad luck etc.

That would require them to have lost a final in unfortunate circumstances or, at the very least, a semi with an absolute duffer waiting in the final.

That hasn't happened.

Two wins in 20 years, both with elements of very good fortune. That is not only a poor return for the 'biggest club in the world' but also boosted by good fortune.
