RE: UKIP's Eastleigh vote

UKIP did well because the European Investment Bank (the European Union's nonprofit long-term lending institution) helped fund the Ford Factory in Turkey to the tune of an ?80m cheap loan.

The loan was spent to upgrade the sprawling Ford Otosan factory in Koceali, specifically to make the next generation of Ford Transits. Transits used to be made in the Ford factory in Eastleigh, which was then closed.
