purely anecdotal but a chap I used to work with...

led a healthy lifestyle, walked everywhere, walking holidays, eat healthily. His only "vice" was he was very much into his real ale, although never had a beer belly or looked like your typical ale man.
Found out the other day that he has Alzheimer's. No history in the family or anything like that. Could it be beer?
