does any1 buy desktop computers anymore?

im looknig for a new one (1st in 8 years!) as my old one is faling apart. i only usually post about football but ive seen from time to time ppl tlaking alot about new comps so i thougt id just ask. any recommendations?

not lopoking for anything desperately cheap, maybe up to ?800? would like it to run some nice games on it, thats about it.
