A couple of relatively low paid black guys sat in a hut by the gate protecting well off white families safe inside in the warm.

A good number of robberies/murders are carried out by the 'security guards' paid to protect the homeowners...

It's a s**tter of a place to live. One of my flight instructors there always carried a gun when out jogging, and was held up at gun point twice despite it (both sides drew weapons and he was lucky the other guy was more afraid than he was).

Crime rates aside, it's a genuinely lovely place though.
