What a conveneint time for me to log in. Had a bit of a disaster with my iPhone 3G

and can't now put several of my most used apps on it as they need a newer os than I can put onit. So I probably have to upgrade.
Samsungs seem to be a fair bit cheaper. Are they ok? Can you get all the same sort of apps? (I don't actually use that many)
