The question is ...... how do you make a team successful in the PL without spending vast sums of cash.

Obviously you have to take a chance on younger and unproven talent and hope they will come good.

I totally agree that they miss a leader on the field.

Players like Bent are probably seen as mercenaries only out for themselves.

I think we often look at Grant Holt in terms of goals or the fact he probably isn't as in shape as he was last season but overlook what he brings to the team.

Even a stats guy like myself admits its one of those things that you cant measure.

Lambert had the chance to sign a player like Simon Lappin, which I think might have been a masterstroke in terms of squad chemistry.
