Hmm ...

... I can deal with relentlessly bleak (I support Norwich after all - you should see some of the stuff I write) and I condone subverting religion ... And I have no problem with someone being intentionally grating to an audience, when it works ... I just didn't like Breaking the Waves, though.

Have issues with the Dogme concept generally - there's a great quote from Ingmar Bergman where he says that the Dogme film needs five people to work the camera - one to hold it and the others to shake him/her around.

For the nearest film to living in Ipswich, try 'Stranger Than Paradise' by Jim Jarmusch - captures the feeling perfectly, I'd imagine ...
