Pretty much every manager says that January is an awful time to do business

Everyone is expensive and a lot of players don't settle in to the team mid-season as well. There are always exceptions.

I was disappointed last night, but the more I think about, the happier I am with how we conducted our business. We don't want to be regarded as the team that bought a player for 10m, only for him to turn out to be rubbish.

We're unlucky that Celtic got into the next stage of the CL and we're also unlucky that Birmingham managed to sell Butland for 4m. I honestly can't think of any players that might have been available for a decent price and wouldn't be a massive risk.
