Maybe I'm deluded, and optimist, or a deluded optimist...

...but the Spurs/Hooper link has always seemed iffy to me. He's decent, but top 4 decent? Hmm.

So anyway, we bid big, but not big enough for Celtic - and - suddenly! - there's interest (backed up by not much at all) from his boyhood club, forcing us to either put up or shut up.

Also, I know AVB was apparently watching him last week - would he really be watching a player this late in the day? Genuine question; it seems a bit odd that a club with a scouting network as wide as Tottenhams would be sending the manager to watch a player they were chasing in the last 2 weeks of the window.
