Is it in the public interest to allow players to kick whoever they want?

This resulted in a prosecution and the assailant was quite rightly jailed.

What makes Hazard so special? If you kicked someone at work you would face a) dismissal b) potential criminal charges. Why should footballers be treated differently? If anything they should be held more rigorously to account for their actions.
