One thing it's useful for - as a business

Is getting your business on google maps - especially for phone searches - with images and reviews. These will also appear in general google searches for that business.

Eg. search for pubs in NR2:

Also, if you have an android phone, it's good for syncing your photos off of your phone automatically.

No one uses the 'facebook' part of it though.
