Here's the reasoning

Hooper could be described as a poacher, and requires the ball either to break off another striker / defender to present chances, or the killer ball in.

We simply aren't getting those kind of chances - apart from a few decent crosses and the odd free kick we simply aren't threatening the final third.

We need a driving midfielder to aid the cause, as we rarely hump it forward. I am a Hoolahoop fan, and that is his role, but we need two and one won't do it.
