NORFOLK LINK TO 'COPTER TERROR
EDP journalist Claire Smith fought back the tears as she spoke to your newspaper about this morning's helicopter crash in central London. Fighting to maintain her composure, Claire told us that she visited London only last year and "might have been on a train quite near to the Thames" at some point during her visit.
"London is the capital city of the United Kingdom and lots of people live and work there, " Claire told us. "Having been in London only last year, I think I can say with some confidence that this horrible event will have come as a real shock to Londoners. Particularly if they were in the helicopter."
However, Claire believes that the spirit of the city will help them to recover from this ordeal; a spirit which she grew to love during her day trip to the capital last March.
She added: "Watching the pictures this morning just brought all the memories flooding back. London is such a close, tight-knit place with everyone looking out for everyone else. Not many people in Norfolk have a real idea what London is like and although today has been really very upsetting for me, I can't wait to get back to a place I now like to think of as my second home."
