No idea if any truth in it but

He is a Newcastle fan so not sure Sunderland would float his boat. Was asked in the Newcastle programme awhile back which team he would play for other than Newcastle if given the choice and his answer was basically "anyone but Sunderland."

Not saying he will come to us but did hear quite some time ago that he was lined up only for it then all to go quiet and the same sources to back track a bit.
