Ho ho ho. The reason most schools close (if they do) is not due to teachers.

It's a combination of things, normally:
inadequate heating, boiler failure (they're often old and poorly maintained)
unsafe public areas and (unofficially) fear of being sued by litigious parents if their child is injured
being unable to staff activities due to lateness caused by traffic
and so on. Teachers often live a way away from the school, and in Norfolk a lot of schools are quite remote. I've been late but not had a snow day since 1992 (I think). The same goes for all those I know.
