Techie help please

I play my dvd's on my ps2 and i've never had any problems with any before.

I bought a copy of 24 series 3 the other day from Music Zone about half the price of anywhere else, the first dvd I put in kept flickering to a clear blue screen intermittently and for varying lengths of time between about 1 and 10 seconds. I took the dvd back to said store. I then bought another copy from a different music zone store and it is doing exactly the same and on all of the discs. What would cause this?
