Proven premier league strikers are almost impossible to come by and on some sort of level, you always have to take a punt on someone. We've not a few options and none of them are ideal:
Someone young an unproven at this level
Someone in their mid 20s who has done OK, but not amazingly well, but has room to improve and potential (Jerome, Ebanks-Blake)
Someone from abroad who may not adapt
Someone older who isn't going to improve (CMS, Graham)
Loan someone from a "big club"
At least with Jerome, he's done OK, and Stoke have some genuine quality up front. As long as we start improving our squad then I'll be happy. We've done it with most other aspects of our squad already. Even if it's CMS then he'd still be better than Martin and possibly Jackson, but impossible to say for sure.
