Markets usually over-react big time to negative news stories

Once things settle prices usually revert back to something nearer fair value

It's good you have a longer time horizon though, gives you better chance to get in and out at opportune times, rather than feeling forced to sell on unfavourable terms

I think HP have changed leadership a few times in recent years too, from memory, but could be wrong - this also takes a little while to turn around a company finding it tough to compete with the big tech hitters like apple, google etc these days

I would have thought HP are big enough and established enough for someone smart to find ways of adding value over the next few years or so
