My last landlord before I bought a place didn't do an inventory before I moved in

How bonkers is that? This was a brand new 2 bedfroom flat in London's docklands which was fully furnished (everything but a tv - and I mean everything, all the linen, towels, crockery etc).

Good job I'm (fairly) honest, I could have taken all the furniture and there would have been nothing he could do.

As it was I just took the towels and plates! Recompense for 2 years of inflated rentals, at least that's what I tell myself.
