Yeah thats pretty much the score.

I was working on that project in Aviva pensions when i left there in August.

Not everyone qualifies automatically, but about 80% of people will, and even then people can opt in to it if they don't automatically qualify.

Its to do with age and salary. 16-21yo's don't qualify, but can opt in, likewise for the over 65's.

Salary needs to meet a certain point, about 12k i think.

You will automatically make a contribution from your own salary also, about 4-7%, and your employer will pay slightly more. However, if you don't want to you can opt out. But will be automatically opted back in after 3 years.
