FAO Mecagoenti (plus other thoughts): Bunn wasn't quiet at all.

He was barking orders at our defence throughout the game, telling them to push up higher, etc. Shame they didn't listen.

Howson (as an example) gifted far too much room to Villa players, especially when we were deep. He couldn't pass very well either despite looking tidy when running with the ball. He's definitely not a central midfielder, Wes' understudy if anything. Fox deserves a chance in midfield if Howson can't fulfill the role, which leads me too...

The reason that we have conceeded 7 goals in 2 games is because we have been without Alex Tettey. Just think about it. His first start was against Arsenal when we won 1-0, since then he started another 7 league games which we didn't lose. Tettey: played 8, lost 0, conceeded 4. Isn't it obvious who our most important player is? BJ isn't the same without the Tettmeister.

Tierney and Barnett coming in from the cold certainly didn't help matters, our defence was really poor in general. One R wasn't too bad up front but should have put us into the lead with the aray of chances he had in the second half, although he ws unlucky with the offside decision that ruled out one effort. Classy finish for the opener mind you.

Snoddy is our best player at the moment, he was excellent again tonight. Pilkington needs a rest by the look of thinks. Holt worked really hard, putting immense pressure on the centre halves and Given (whose kicking was woeful) but failed to get in the box enough.

Oh well, let's hope there's a reaction on Saturday!
