I think the goal went in due to poor positioning and a slip to be honest.

If he was a couple of feet further forwards he would have saved it. Notice how close he was to his goal line.

He also failed to get his feet off the ground (maybe due to the surface) which didn't seem to help. He would have got away with the 'line keeping' if it wasn't for the slip, I think.
