jut saw this on Guardian comments

Bent is not in the squad for the following reasons:-

- They need to reduce wages and cannot afford his, he will be sold in January.
- There is an add on deal in place with Sunderland that if he plays 50 games (he is on 47) Villa with have to pay Sunderland FC another 6 million. As Villa are in a relegation battle with Sunderland they dont want to give MON 6 million to spend in January!!!
- Lambert is changing the dynamics of the team going for work work work which Bent is not know for that.7
