it was actually really good

got incredibly lucky - the rain stopped as we got out of the car at Grasmere, and never started again. So completely dry ride (at least from the sky - had to go thru some pretty bit puddles in the roads...)

Lake District was beautiful, if slightly spoiled by lots of men in lycra.

Some frightening descents in the wet though. Had aching forearms from braking by the end...
