Due to our history of England being built on and by immigrants

I always feel the national identity thing a bit baffling.

What exactly is it we have lost then? What did you feel was your british identity?

Flag, national anthem and monarchy still the same - possibly the most 3 instantly 'british' identifiable things to alot of people.
