It only requires an ounce of common sense to realise

that in any game the ref is likely to get something wrong and it's likely to be to your team's detriment at some point. The players make mistakes all the time and the game moves on instantly.

Unfortunately the likes of Warnock, Pulis, Dalglish etc lack the humility and basic intelligence to accept human error as a natural phenomenon that affects us all, themselves included.

I remember Pearce being on the end of a shocker once when he was at Man City. The interviewer after the game was trying to get a reaction from him and he just shrugged and said that the refs job is hard enough, he knew it wasn't deliberate and he had nothing but respect for refs.

Always liked Pearce after that, despite *that* blub
