Most of the attention has been on ticket prices but there is a lot more to think about that's more important.
First half was a very drab affair. Both sides playing at a pedestrian pace. But we looked reasonable, held our shape, and restricted Spurs to minimal chances.
Morrison seemed to pull out too wide every time we attacked which meant he'd get the ball but no one was in the middle to cross to since he was the loan striker who should be in the middle.
At half time I was satisfied that we could get something out of the game if we raised our ball pace and movement.
Second half the pace was a lot better from both sides. Spurs had the better of the exchanges and deservedly took the lead through a good Bale strike.
Whittaker put in some good tackles and looked class all night long, I cannot stress how good I thought he looked for someone who had not played a first team game for a long while.
At 1-0 down, Tettey and Jacko came on and changed the game. Suddenly we were attacking with menace and looked likely to score.
And score we did. 2 in 4 mins through some excellent play by all 3 subs. (Well done hoots). I thought that snodgrass played well and got some good balls into the box.
1 min to go and they got a soft penalty. Whether it was a dive or not, we should not have been sliding in in the box with 1 min to go giving him the opportunity to dive in an area where he was going no where.
It was Bunnbelievable Geoff and the penalty was saved. Good work again by Tettey charging in to clear the rebound under pressure.
Great night out. ?30 seemed pricey at half time but was well worth it in the end. I Bloody love last minute winners!!
