what does the spine of our best XI look like?

Bearing in mind that Davenport will be gone in Jan, what is your first choice centre-back pairing? Are you really happy with that?
What's our central midfield pairing?
Who partners Ashton up front? (And presumably he'll be gone in Jan too.)

And that's before we've even got to the players. Or the question of strength in depth, given that some of the players above won't always be available.

We are a long way away from a promotion-challenging squad, and unless the fans realise that pretty quick, you're going to be disappointed with the achievements of the new manager, too.
