Help me out with the elected police commissioners thing.

I don't agree that the head of the local police force should be elected, because a) I think the politicisation of such a role is needlessly distracting from the actual job itself, b) asking people what particular types of crime they'd like Plod to focus on is f**king stupid (only correct answer: "all of them please, particularly the illegal ones") and c) I've met the public, and they're mostly a collection of f**king idiots I wouldn't trust to decide on what brewery to arrange a piss-up in.

I have to abstain, right? That's my logical course of action, isn't it? It feels like it.
