Why Can't They Do A Version Of It On The Digital Signal?

Because the Digital Text service on the Red Button is woeful.

All you need from a text service is information. It doesn't need to be fancy or pretty. Just like it was on Ceefax, not beyond them surely? I miss pages 301, 302, 312-which became 323, 338 for the transfer gossip (now on BBC website though) plus 145 for the letters, 160 for regional news, 390 for regional sport etc etc...and as for watching the latest scores come in on page 313 onwards, well...if the page count was 3/3 and it suddenly became 3/4 it meant there had been some goals and the tension in wondering if it was us, well...
